This past month, we celebrated my baby shower at the stunning Whistle Bear Golf Club in Cambridge, Ontario. The newly renovated Woodland Room was the perfect space for a dreamy springtime gathering filled with love, laughter, and all the little details I had been envisioning for months.
We went with a soft “Spring in Full Bloom” theme, think light blue, soft whites, creamy florals, delicate touches of gold, and toile absolutely everywhere. From the linens to the custom signage to the floral-print backdrop, toile brought a classic charm that made the whole space feel elegant, cozy, and timeless. The room was bathed in the most beautiful natural light thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows, which made everything glow – the florals, the flickering candles, and all the smiling faces of the friends and family who came to celebrate Baby T with us.
The tables were long and elegant, covered in dreamy blue-and-white floral tablecloths that set the tone for the whole design. Gold lamps and ribbed candles added warmth and a little sparkle, while lush arrangements of white roses, ranunculus, delphiniums, and soft greenery gave the space a fresh, refined garden feel. The seating was just as beautiful. We chose Louis-style chairs with rattan backs, which added texture and sophistication. They tied in perfectly with the soft romantic feel of the room – refined and elevated, yet effortlessly comfortable. I loved how every detail felt intentional but never over-the-top. It all came together so naturally.
Our bar setup was such a fun little moment. We created a custom drink menu with playful names, including a lemon lavender spritz mocktail that I sipped on all afternoon. The drink sign itself was so beautifully designed, it felt more like décor than a menu, and perfectly matched the rest of the aesthetic.
One of my favourite parts of the day was stepping in front of our toile-printed photo backdrop, with the golden “Baby T” sign glimmering above. Surrounded by soft candlelight, cascading florals, and the people who’ve supported me every step of the way, it felt surreal and incredibly emotional. I wore a soft, blue dress that matched the palette and subtly hinted at the sweet boy we’re about to meet.
As a little thank you, guests each took home a mini orchid, a sweet nod to our spring in full bloom theme. They added the perfect final touch: elegant, seasonal, and something that keeps growing, just like our little family.
Every moment of the day felt soft, intentional, and full of love. The Woodland Room gave us the perfect blank canvas to bring our vision to life and honestly, it felt like spring had arrived early just for us. This baby shower was more than just a celebration. It was a beautiful reminder of the love and support we’re surrounded by, and one of the first truly meaningful days we’ve shared with Baby T.
